As an extension to the book of Luke, Acts begins with the ascension of Jesus to take his throne at the right hand of God. He is elevated to his rightful place as true King. Before Jesus leaves, he gives his disciples important instructions. He tells them they will receive the power of the Holy Spirit to be witnesses in the
world to God’s saving love. We should not shy always from giving witness to our faith because we have the same spirit living in us.
