Galatians, one of the earliest books of the New Testament, addresses a number of Christians who believed that only those who were circumcised could be saved. This alienated many of the gentile believers. Paul’s message can be summed up in verse 16: “Yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ.”
