The Gospel Story - The Gift of the Holy Spirit

After Jesus ascended to heaven, the Holy Spirit arrived on Pentecost and brought explosive growth to the new church. Last week we discussed the importance of evangelism. This week, our text teaches us that we need God’s power to reach people for him. Think of the daunting task ahead of the disciples! Not only were they going up against the same religious leaders who put Jesus to death, but they were also challenging the status quo of the Roman Empire. How were they able to make such a difference? How were they able to turn the world upside down? They weren’t alone.
